Dividend Updates for June, July, August

Wednesday, September 14, 2016 2 Comments A+ a-

Yikes! It's been a long time since the last update. I think I fell asleep at the wheel over the last few months. June through August was busy, what with summer, a family trip and a relative visiting from out of country. That also meant our spending shot up - despite budgeting - as some of this was quite variable, particularly in August.

Here's a summary of the dividends:

June Total: $106.60

  • Corus Entertainment (CJR) - $9.50
  • RioCan (REI.UN) - $11.75
  • Canadian Utilities (CU) - $32.50
  • Hydro One (H) - $21.00
  • Sun Life (SLF) - $20.25
  • Suncore (SU) - $11.60
July Total: $279.66 - record breaking month!

  • Bell Canada (BCE) - $17.06
  • Bank of Nova Scotia (BNS) - $100.80
  • Corus Entertainment (CJR) - $9.50
  • RioCan (REI.UN) - $11.75
  • Telus (T) - $46.00
  • TD Bank - $55.00
  • TransCanada  - $39.55
August Total: $122.50
  • Corus Entertainment (CJR) - $9.50
  • RioCan (REI.UN) - $11.75
  • Royal Bank (RY) - $101.25
Purchases:

None

Portfolio Update

The total portfolio is now at: $48,729.50

As of the end of August:

I have received a total of $1182.30 in dividends this year. The portfolio will generate about $2046/year which is around $170.52 on average per month tax-free income.

That dividend income keeps rolling in with or without blog updates. Of course, it's fun and interesting to read regular updates about buys, sells, dividend increases/cuts, etc. so I hope you get back into updating your blog more frequently. Thanks for sharing.

That is the best thing about dividends, they just keep coming in, as long as there are no cuts. Good luck to you and your investments.
